15 May 2017 – Advocat to Calpe

Nine of us for this walk, which we last did in 2009

There has been a lot of work done on the whole route since then

We stopped to admire the collection of cairns, where David found lasting fame by adding one stone too many and destroying the cairn!

The replacement cairns are much more attractive, so he need not feel too guilty

                                                

No more scrambling over rocks and up dangerous tracks, all replaced with handrails and proper stone steps             

            

The picnic site at Fustera remains and we made use of it today for our banana stop

        

The views of Calpe and the Ifach are still just as impressive

In fact there are two short scrambles, just to remind us of what the whole walk was once like

Back then this seemed like a normal Monday walk, but it is now much shorter than the normal and felt a little tame with the steps and handrails.

But it is still a lovely walk and a welcome addition for the warmer months
